Background/History: Thetis was raised by her mother Melina, a forger of magical items. Her mother preferred to stay outside of the main atlantean settlements near an underwater volcano. When she was visited by Orm, Aquaman’s brother, to forge for him, she agreed under one condition. That he sleep with her. She knew that any child from Orm would be a powerful heir to her legacy.
Thetis was born with purple hued skin and eyes. Melina believed this was a sign of her magical potential and was pleased. However she also knew that many of their people would ostracize her and so raised her alone off away from others. She didn’t know that while Thetis did have magical potential, her skin color was actually due to a new evolvement of meta-humans.
Thetis was strong, like most of their people but heat never bothered her. Not even the extreme heats of the volcano forge that Melina would have to cast a spell to protect herself from. She grew up with just her mother, starting to learn the forging magics of her mother when something changed their world. Melina got ill, with a disease that had no cure. Believing her daughter to young to be left on her own, Melina contacted the king, Aquaman, and called upon his familial obligations to look after Thetis in her place.
Her mother passed along all that she could to her daughter in the limited amount of time they had. She passed old books of knowledge and gave her a mystical armor, her last forging, along with a magical anvil & hammer. Thetis found her life in the city to be horrendous. She was strange looking to them, and odd in her behaviors and magical interests. As if that wasn’t enough, she was technically in line to the throne, even though her father was a traitor and enemy of the king. So she decided to give the human world a try. Even if they would not accept her, she had a far better chance to learn more about smelting and forging in their world than the underwater city of Atlantis. It seemed to her that everyone was relieved to see her go.
Special Abilities- super strength, ability to breath underwater, ability to imbue items with basic magical traits (needs training), has basic understanding of forging, has magical armband that can turn into full body armor, an anvil and hammer that can shrink and enlarge at will.
